Indoor Cycling for Beginners
How to Set Up Your Bike
So you're thinking about trying an indoor cycling or spinning class. Awesome! You're probably wondering how to set-up your bike when you arrive. In this video, fitness instructor Beth Bertone shows you the three bike adjustments you'll want to make for an effective first ride.
three adjustments for an effective ride:
- Adjust the seat height. When you stand on the ground, the seat should be at your hips.
- Adjust the seat position (forward or back.) If you're wearing sneakers, your knee should align with the ball of your foot .
- Adjust the height of your handle bars. This is your personal preference! If you like to sit up when you ride, your handlebars should be higher. If you want more of an "outdoor feel," your handlebars should be lower.
Remember – Each bike is different. Come early to your first cycling class so your instructor can help you with your bike.
